In this role, you will be responsible for processing and releasing sensitive medical information in accordance with state and federal laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and excellent attention to detail.   1. Process and release sensitive medical information in compliance with state and federal laws.
  2. Ensure that all releases of information are accurate, complete, and in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  3. Maintain strict confidentiality and protect patient privacy at all times.
  4. Review and verify requests for medical records to ensure that all necessary information is provided.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare providers and legal teams to fulfill requests for medical information.
  6. Maintain accurate records of all requests and releases of information.
  7. Stay up-to-date on changes to state and federal laws and regulations related to release of medical information.
  8. Provide excellent customer service to patients and external parties requesting medical records.
  9. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
  10. Participate in training and education programs related to HIPAA regulations and release of information processes.
  11. Communicate any potential privacy breaches or issues to appropriate personnel.
  12. Work collaboratively with other members of the Health Information Management team to ensure efficient and effective processes.
  13. Adhere to all Mainehealth policies and procedures related to release of information.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and make recommendations for streamlining procedures.
  15. Maintain a professional demeanor and represent Mainehealth positively when interacting with patients and external parties.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Release Of Information In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Proficiency In Electronic Health Record Systems And Medical Record Software.

  • Knowledge Of Hipaa Regulations And Other Federal And State Laws Governing Release Of Information.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills, With The Ability To Handle Sensitive And Confidential Information.

  • Strong Organizational And Time-Management Skills, With The Ability To Prioritize Tasks And Meet Deadlines In A Fast-Paced Environment.
