- Provide individualized assessment and treatment to children with developmental, physical, and/or cognitive disabilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each child's specific needs and goals.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and speech therapists, to provide comprehensive care for children.
- Conduct evaluations and utilize evidence-based techniques to improve functional capabilities and promote independence in daily activities.
- Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and activities to engage and motivate children during treatment sessions.
- Educate and involve parents/caregivers in the treatment process and provide them with strategies to support their child's progress at home.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of each child's progress and treatment plans.
- Continuously assess and modify treatment plans as needed to ensure the best possible outcomes for each child.
- Stay current with advancements and changes in the field of pediatric occupational therapy through ongoing education and training.
- Foster a supportive and positive environment for children and their families, promoting a sense of comfort and trust during therapy sessions.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards, maintaining confidentiality and respecting the rights of patients and families.
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss and coordinate care for children with complex needs.
- Serve as an advocate for children's needs, rights, and abilities within the healthcare system and the community.
- Contribute to the overall success and growth of the pediatric occupational therapy department through collaboration, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including safety and infection control protocols, to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Occupational Therapy From An Accredited Program
Current State License To Practice Occupational Therapy In Maine
Certification From The National Board For Certification In Occupational Therapy (Nbcot)
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In Pediatric Occupational Therapy Settings
Knowledge And Understanding Of Developmental Milestones And Treatment Approaches For Children With Various Physical, Cognitive, And Sensory Impairments.
