  1. Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Schedule and confirm appointments for patients.
  3. Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate individuals.
  4. Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
  5. Verify insurance information and assist with insurance inquiries.
  6. Process and collect payments from patients.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  8. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  9. Provide excellent customer service and address any concerns or complaints.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized front desk area.
  11. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  12. Stay updated on company policies, procedures, and services.
  13. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry.
  14. Attend training sessions and meetings to stay current on industry trends.
  15. Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and patience when interacting with elderly patients.
  16. Prioritize and manage tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
  17. Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers.
  18. Continuously strive to improve the patient experience.
  19. Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: A Patient Service Representative At A Geriatrics Center Should Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills In Order To Effectively Communicate With Elderly Patients And Their Families.

  • Empathy And Compassion: Working With Elderly Patients Can Be Emotionally Challenging, Therefore A Patient Service Representative Should Have A High Level Of Empathy And Compassion To Provide Quality Care And Support To Patients And Their Families.

  • Knowledge Of Geriatric Care: Candidates Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Geriatric Care And The Unique Needs Of Elderly Patients. This Includes Knowledge Of Common Age-Related Conditions And Treatments, As Well As Experience With Geriatric-Specific Medical Equipment.

  • Computer Literacy: Patient Service Representatives Use Electronic Medical Records And Scheduling Systems On A Daily Basis, So Strong Computer Skills Are Essential For This Role. Experience With Medical Billing And Coding Software Is Also A Plus.

  • Multitasking Abilities: Working In A Busy Geriatrics Center Requires The Ability To Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously. A Patient Service Representative Should Be Organized, Detail-Oriented And Able To Prioritize Tasks Effectively To Ensure Smooth Operations Of The Center.
