As a Patient Access Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care by providing exceptional customer service and assisting with the registration and scheduling process.   1. Greet and check-in patients, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  2. Ensure accurate and timely registration of patients, including verifying demographics and insurance information.
  3. Assist patients with scheduling appointments and coordinating referrals to other healthcare providers.
  4. Respond to patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure patient needs are met and appointments are scheduled appropriately.
  6. Maintain accurate and organized electronic medical records.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
  8. Adhere to all privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures.
  9. Continuously develop and maintain knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and processes.
  10. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment by actively participating in team meetings and trainings.
  11. Identify and report any issues or concerns with the registration and scheduling process.
  12. Take initiative to improve processes and procedures to enhance patient experience.
  13. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
  14. Uphold the mission, values, and standards of Mainehealth in all interactions.
  15. Support and assist other departments as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Access Apprentice At Mainehealth Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Demonstrate Basic Educational Qualifications.

  • Healthcare Experience: Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Clinic, Is Preferred. This Experience Can Include Volunteering, Internships, Or Previous Employment In A Healthcare Role.

  • Basic Computer Skills: The Ability To Navigate Computer Systems, Input And Retrieve Data, And Use Basic Computer Applications Is Essential For This Role. Familiarity With Electronic Health Records (Ehr) Is A Plus.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: As A Patient Access Apprentice, You Will Be Interacting With Patients And Their Families On A Daily Basis. Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Necessary To Provide A Positive And Welcoming Experience.

  • Attention To Detail: Accuracy Is Crucial In The Healthcare Industry, And A Patient Access Apprentice Should Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure That Patient Information Is Entered Correctly And Procedures Are Followed Accurately.
