  1. Provide compassionate and skilled care to patients recovering from surgical procedures in our Surgery Wound Care Center.
  2. Assist healthcare providers with procedures and treatments, including wound care, dressing changes, and suture removal.
  3. Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documenting procedures and treatments performed.
  5. Educate patients on proper wound care techniques and provide instructions for at-home care.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members to provide an exceptional patient experience.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  9. Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance the quality of patient care.
  10. Attend training and educational opportunities to stay current on best practices and advancements in wound care.
  11. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  12. Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records.
  13. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Mainehealth in all aspects of the job.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the healthcare team.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: A Qualified Candidate For A Medical Assistant Position At Mainehealth's Surgery Wound Care Center Should Hold A Valid Certification In Medical Assisting.

  • Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Surgical Or Wound Care Environment, Is Required For This Role.

  • Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures: The Ma Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Surgical Procedures And Be Able To Assist The Physician During Procedures.

  • Wound Care Expertise: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Wound Care Techniques And Be Able To Provide Appropriate Care For Patients With Surgical Wounds.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For This Position. The Ma Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Members Of The Healthcare Team.
