  1. Provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients with infectious diseases and internal medicine conditions.
  2. Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  3. Administer medications and vaccines as directed by medical staff.
  4. Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for testing.
  5. Record and maintain accurate patient medical records.
  6. Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment plans, and medications.
  7. Keep exam rooms and medical equipment clean and well-stocked.
  8. Follow infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  10. Respond to patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  11. Stay updated on current medical practices and procedures related to infectious diseases and internal medicine.
  12. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  13. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving patient care and services.

Job Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Certification From An Accredited Medical Assistant Program, Demonstrating Their Knowledge And Proficiency In Clinical And Administrative Tasks.

  • Knowledge Of Infectious Diseases: The Ma Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Infectious Diseases, Their Causes, Symptoms, And Treatments. This Will Enable Them To Assist With Patient Education And Provide Proper Care For Patients With Infectious Diseases.

  • Familiarity With Internal Medicine Procedures: Mainehealth's Infectious Disease And Internal Medicine Department Deals With A Variety Of Medical Procedures. The Ma Should Have Experience And Knowledge Of These Procedures To Assist The Physicians Effectively.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Medical Assistant, Effective Communication Is Vital, Especially When Dealing With Patients. The Ma Should Possess Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Ability To Handle High-Stress Situations: Working In The Field Of Infectious Diseases And Internal Medicine Can Be Demanding And Often Involves Dealing With High-Stress Situations. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Handle Pressure And Remain Calm In Emergencies While Providing Efficient And Compassionate Care To Patients.
