  1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations on patients to assess their mental health status and identify any potential underlying conditions.
  2. Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with psychiatric conditions in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
  3. Prescribe and monitor medication regimens for patients in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  4. Provide ongoing psychiatric care to patients, including counseling, therapy, and education on coping strategies.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive and holistic care for patients.
  6. Monitor and document patients' progress and response to treatment, adjusting plans as needed.
  7. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health disorders, treatment options, and resources.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation of patient care.
  9. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of practice, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
  10. Stay current with developments and advancements in the field of psychiatric care, attending trainings and conferences as necessary.
  11. Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs and preferences are considered in their treatment plan.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  13. Provide guidance and support to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals in managing patients with mental health disorders.
  14. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  15. Display a compassionate and empathetic approach to patients and their families, creating a safe and supportive atmosphere for their treatment.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing From An Accredited Program.

  • Active And Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner License In The State Of Maine.

  • Certification As A Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Pmhnp) From The American Nurses Credentialing Center (Ancc).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Pmhnp In An Inpatient Psychiatric Setting.

  • Strong Clinical Skills, Including Assessment, Diagnosis, And Treatment Of Mental Health Disorders, As Well As Medication Management And Crisis Intervention.
