
Gender Clinic Coordinator

- Oversee and manage all aspects of the Gender Clinic, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals seeking healthcare services.
- Conduct initial screenings and assessments to determine the needs of each patient and develop individualized care plans.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments with healthcare providers, including primary care physicians, mental health therapists, and specialists.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure culturally competent and inclusive care for transgender and gender-nonconforming patients.
- Assist patients with navigating insurance coverage and financial resources for gender-affirming care.
- Provide education and resources to patients and their families regarding gender identity, healthcare options, and community support.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local LGBTQ+ organizations and community resources to enhance the care and support available to patients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and comply with all HIPAA regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest developments and research in transgender healthcare and advocate for best practices within the clinic.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to gender identity and transgender healthcare.
- Act as a positive and welcoming representative of the Gender Clinic and Mainehealth, promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all patients.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams within Mainehealth to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to patient care.
- Uphold the values and mission of Mainehealth and the Gender Clinic, promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion for all patients and staff.
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Social Work, Psychology, Or Public Health.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Gender Clinic Or Related Field.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Gender Identity And Transgender Health Issues.
Strong Organizational Skills And Ability To Manage Multiple Tasks Simultaneously.
Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With A Diverse Team Of Healthcare Professionals And Community Partners.
