Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinician to join our Substance Use Treatment team in our Partial Hospitalization Program. As a Clinician, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive treatment and support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This position requires a compassionate and empathetic individual with a strong understanding of addiction and mental health.   1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders.
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and collaborate with the treatment team to ensure comprehensive care.
  3. Provide evidence-based therapy, including individual and group therapy, to individuals in the Partial Hospitalization Program.
  4. Monitor and evaluate individual progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure effective care.
  5. Utilize a trauma-informed approach and demonstrate cultural sensitivity in all interactions with clients.
  6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment interventions.
  7. Collaborate with external providers and community resources to ensure continuity of care for clients.
  8. Educate and support clients and their families/caregivers on substance use disorders, treatment options, and relapse prevention strategies.
  9. Stay current on best practices and developments in the field of substance use treatment and incorporate these into clinical practice.
  10. Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss treatment plans, client progress, and discharge planning.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the provision of care.
  12. Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
  13. Serve as a positive role model for clients and promote a safe and supportive treatment environment.
  14. Collaborate with insurance companies and assist with insurance authorization processes.
  15. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  16. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations of Mainehealth and the Substance Use Treatment program.
  17. Represent Mainehealth and the Substance Use Treatment program in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  18. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or program director.

Job Qualifications
  • Education And Certification: A Clinician In A Substance Use Treatment/Partial Hospitalization Program At Mainehealth Should Have A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In A Related Field Such As Social Work, Psychology, Or Counseling. They Should Also Possess A Valid License To Practice Clinical Therapy In The State Of Maine.

  • Experience: Candidates Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In A Substance Use Treatment Or Partial Hospitalization Program. Previous Experience Working With Clients With Co-Occurring Disorders Is Preferred.

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices: A Strong Understanding And Ability To Implement Evidence-Based Practices Such As Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Cbt), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (Dbt), And Motivational Interviewing (Mi) Is Essential For This Role.

  • Familiarity With Maine's Substance Use Treatment System: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Maine's Substance Use Treatment System, Including Knowledge Of Available Resources, Treatment Modalities, And Regulations.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Necessary For This Position. The Ability To Establish Rapport With Clients And Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team Is Crucial For Success In This Role.
