
Clinician - Substance Use Treatment / Partial Hospitalization Program

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and collaborate with the treatment team to ensure comprehensive care.
- Provide evidence-based therapy, including individual and group therapy, to individuals in the Partial Hospitalization Program.
- Monitor and evaluate individual progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure effective care.
- Utilize a trauma-informed approach and demonstrate cultural sensitivity in all interactions with clients.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment interventions.
- Collaborate with external providers and community resources to ensure continuity of care for clients.
- Educate and support clients and their families/caregivers on substance use disorders, treatment options, and relapse prevention strategies.
- Stay current on best practices and developments in the field of substance use treatment and incorporate these into clinical practice.
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss treatment plans, client progress, and discharge planning.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the provision of care.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Serve as a positive role model for clients and promote a safe and supportive treatment environment.
- Collaborate with insurance companies and assist with insurance authorization processes.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations of Mainehealth and the Substance Use Treatment program.
- Represent Mainehealth and the Substance Use Treatment program in a professional and positive manner at all times.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or program director.
Education And Certification: A Clinician In A Substance Use Treatment/Partial Hospitalization Program At Mainehealth Should Have A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In A Related Field Such As Social Work, Psychology, Or Counseling. They Should Also Possess A Valid License To Practice Clinical Therapy In The State Of Maine.
Experience: Candidates Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In A Substance Use Treatment Or Partial Hospitalization Program. Previous Experience Working With Clients With Co-Occurring Disorders Is Preferred.
Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices: A Strong Understanding And Ability To Implement Evidence-Based Practices Such As Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Cbt), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (Dbt), And Motivational Interviewing (Mi) Is Essential For This Role.
Familiarity With Maine's Substance Use Treatment System: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Maine's Substance Use Treatment System, Including Knowledge Of Available Resources, Treatment Modalities, And Regulations.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Necessary For This Position. The Ability To Establish Rapport With Clients And Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team Is Crucial For Success In This Role.
