  1. Develop and implement educational programs for clinical nursing staff to ensure high quality patient care and adherence to best practices.
  2. Serve as a mentor and role model for nursing students, new nurses, and experienced nurses seeking to advance their careers.
  3. Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify learning needs and develop strategies to address them.
  4. Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make recommendations for improvements.
  5. Stay up-to-date on current healthcare trends, practices, and technologies in order to provide relevant and evidence-based education.
  6. Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for nursing students and staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  7. Provide guidance and support to nursing staff on clinical policies, procedures, and protocols.
  8. Conduct regular competency assessments to ensure nursing staff are meeting performance standards.
  9. Participate in the selection and onboarding process for new nursing staff, providing orientation and training as needed.
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and departments to develop interdisciplinary educational opportunities.
  11. Communicate effectively with nursing leadership, faculty, and staff to ensure alignment of educational goals and objectives.
  12. Maintain accurate records of educational programs, attendance, and evaluations.
  13. Act as a liaison between Mainehealth and nursing schools, fostering partnerships and promoting the nursing profession.
  14. Serve as a resource and consultant for nursing staff on professional development and career advancement opportunities.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of Mainehealth, promoting a culture of excellence and compassion in healthcare.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Rn License In The State Of Maine: The Clinical Nursing Educator Must Possess A Current And Active Rn License In The State Of Maine. This Ensures That The Individual Is Qualified To Teach And Practice Nursing In The State.

  • Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Nursing: A Clinical Nursing Educator Must Hold A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Nursing. This Advanced Education Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Educate And Mentor Nursing Students.

  • Previous Teaching Experience: Ideal Candidates For The Position Should Have Previous Teaching Experience In An Academic Or Clinical Setting. This Experience Demonstrates The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Educate Nursing Students.

  • Extensive Clinical Experience: In Addition To Teaching Experience, A Clinical Nursing Educator Should Have A Strong Background In Clinical Nursing Practice. This Experience Allows Them To Bring Real-World Scenarios And Examples Into The Classroom, Enriching The Learning Experience For Students.

  • Strong Communication And Leadership Skills: As A Faculty Member, The Clinical Nursing Educator Will Be Responsible For Leading And Guiding Students In Their Education And Clinical Practice. Therefore, Strong Communication And Leadership Skills Are Essential Qualifications For This Role.
