  1. Provide expert clinical care to patients in the Vascular Access department.
  2. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes.
  3. Administer medications, treatments, and procedures according to established protocols and nursing standards.
  4. Monitor and maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  5. Educate patients and their families on vascular access procedures, care, and self-management techniques.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and individualized care.
  7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
  9. Stay current with evidence-based practices and advancements in vascular access care.
  10. Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare team members, including new nurses and students.
  11. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  12. Advocate for patients' rights and promote a culture of patient-centered care.
  13. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to maintain licensure and enhance clinical skills.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  15. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Mainehealth in all interactions and behaviors.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution: A Clinical Nurse Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing To Be Eligible For The Position. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Principles And Prepares Individuals For Advanced Roles In Patient Care.

  • Current Registered Nurse (Rn) Licensure In The State Of Maine: A Clinical Nurse Must Hold A Valid And Current Rn License In The State Of Maine. This Ensures That The Nurse Is Authorized To Practice In The State And Has Met The Necessary Requirements To Maintain Their License.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Vascular Access Care: Mainehealth Requires A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Vascular Access Care For This Role. This Ensures That The Nurse Has A Strong Understanding Of The Complexities Of Vascular Access And Is Able To Provide High-Quality Care To Patients.

  • Knowledge Of Vascular Access Procedures And Techniques: A Clinical Nurse At Mainehealth Must Possess A Solid Understanding Of Vascular Access Procedures And Techniques. This Includes Knowledge Of Central Line Insertion, Peripheral Iv Placement, And Maintenance Of Vascular Access Devices.

  • Bls And Acls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Required For This Role. These Certifications Demonstrate The Nurse's Ability To Respond To Cardiac Emergencies And Provide Life-Saving Interventions In Critical Situations.
