Job Description

  1. Provide excellent nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
  2. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
  3. Monitor and assess patients' conditions, identify any changes or complications, and take appropriate action.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  5. Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and self-care at home.
  6. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, following infection control protocols and safety standards.
  7. Handle and respond to emergency situations in a calm and efficient manner.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, and serve as an advocate for the patient's needs and rights.
  9. Continuously assess and improve nursing practices to ensure the highest quality of care.
  10. Participate in educational and professional development opportunities to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
  11. Adhere to all state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
  12. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure a smooth transition to other units or facilities as needed.
  13. Provide emotional support to patients and families during difficult times and help them cope with the challenges of hospitalization.
  14. Maintain confidentiality and respect for patient privacy at all times.
  15. Remain up-to-date on current trends and advancements in pediatric nursing and integrate new knowledge into practice.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Rn License In The State Of Maine

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Pediatric Intensive Care Nursing

  • Current Certification In Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals)

  • Strong Knowledge Of Pediatric Critical Care Nursing Protocols And Procedures

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced, High-Stress Environment.
