- Oversee the daily operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Manage and lead a team of nurses to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and other healthcare professionals to promote a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Utilize clinical expertise to assess, plan, and implement patient care plans and ensure the delivery of evidence-based care.
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance patient care.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote a safe and efficient work environment.
- Provide ongoing education and training for staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff to ensure high-quality, compassionate care is provided to patients.
- Collaborate with other healthcare leaders to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and appropriate utilization of resources.
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure effective communication and satisfaction with care.
- Participate in budget planning and monitor expenses to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Stay up-to-date with current healthcare practices and standards and incorporate new evidence-based practices into patient care.
- Serve as a role model for professional behavior and promote a positive work culture.
- Adhere to all confidentiality and ethical standards in the management of patient and employee information.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Clinical Nurse Manager At Mainehealth Must Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Principles, Theories, And Practices That Are Essential For Running An Efficient Asu/Pacu Department.
Current Rn License: A Clinical Nurse Manager Must Hold A Current Rn License In The State Of Maine. This License Ensures That The Individual Is Qualified To Practice As A Registered Nurse And Can Provide Safe And Competent Care To Patients.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Clinical Experience: To Be Considered For The Role Of Clinical Nurse Manager At Mainehealth, Candidates Must Have At Least 5 Years Of Clinical Experience In An Acute Care Setting. This Experience Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Manage The Asu/Pacu Department.
Leadership And Management Skills: As A Clinical Nurse Manager, One Must Possess Strong Leadership And Management Skills To Effectively Oversee The Asu/Pacu Department. This Includes The Ability To Delegate Tasks, Communicate Effectively, And Handle Conflicts And Issues Within The Team.
Knowledge Of Asu/Pacu Policies And Procedures: Mainehealth Requires Its Clinical Nurse Managers To Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Organization's Policies And Procedures Related To The Asu/Pacu Department. This Includes Knowledge Of Infection Control Practices, Patient Safety Protocols, And Regulatory Guidelines.
