
Clinical Dietitian - Medical Nutrition Therapy

As a Clinical Dietitian, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our patients through individualized nutrition counseling and education. To be successful in this role, you must possess a degree in dietetics or a related field, be a Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, and have at least two years of experience in medical nutrition therapy. - Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' nutritional needs and develop individualized nutrition care plans based on medical history, current health status, and dietary preferences.
- Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling and education to patients, including those with chronic diseases, acute illnesses, and other medical conditions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement nutrition interventions and monitor patients' progress towards nutrition goals.
- Stay current with the latest research and developments in the field of nutrition and incorporate this knowledge into practice.
- Utilize medical nutrition therapy guidelines, protocols, and standards of care to ensure quality and consistency in nutrition care delivery.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, including assessments, care plans, progress notes, and other relevant information.
- Educate patients and their families on proper nutrition and food choices to promote optimal health and wellness.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, team meetings, and other healthcare initiatives to provide expert nutrition recommendations and contribute to patient care plans.
- Serve as a resource for healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals, regarding nutrition-related inquiries and concerns.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality nutrition care and support the achievement of organizational goals.
- Adhere to all professional standards, ethical guidelines, and regulations related to the practice of dietetics, including maintaining RD credentialing and continuing education requirements.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care, treating patients with respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity.
- Actively engage in professional development activities, such as attending conferences, workshops, and seminars, to enhance knowledge and skills in nutrition and healthcare.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by communicating effectively with team members, promoting teamwork, and providing support and mentorship to less experienced staff.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for patients and staff.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nutritional Sciences Or Related Field From An Accredited University.
Registered Dietitian (Rd) Or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (Rdn) Certification From The Commission On Dietetic Registration (Cdr).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Clinical Dietetics, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Medical Nutrition Therapy Protocols And Ability To Apply Evidence-Based Practices To Patient Care.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Healthcare Team And Effectively Educate Patients On Nutrition And Lifestyle Changes.
