  1. Provide expert nutrition care to patients by conducting assessments, developing personalized nutrition plans, and monitoring progress.
  2. Educate patients and their families on proper nutrition and healthy eating habits.
  3. Stay updated on the latest nutrition research and guidelines to ensure the most current and evidence-based practices are being implemented.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses, and therapists to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
  5. Maintain accurate and thorough records of patient progress and communicate findings with the healthcare team.
  6. Conduct group nutrition education sessions for patients and their families.
  7. Adapt nutrition plans and recommendations based on individual patient needs and medical conditions.
  8. Stay informed on insurance coverage and reimbursement policies related to nutrition services.
  9. Participate in departmental meetings and trainings to stay informed on departmental policies and procedures.
  10. Engage in continuous professional development and maintain relevant certifications and licenses.
  11. Advocate for patients' nutritional needs within the healthcare system.
  12. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, displaying empathy and understanding towards their individual situations.
  13. Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare professionals on nutrition-related topics.
  14. Maintain a professional and positive attitude while working with patients and colleagues.
  15. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all interactions with patients and healthcare team members.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition Or Dietetics: A Clinical Dietitian At Mainehealth Should Possess A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition Or Dietetics From An Accredited Institution. This Qualification Provides A Solid Foundation In The Principles Of Nutrition And Dietetics.

  • Registered Dietitian (Rd) Certification: Candidates Must Be A Registered Dietitian With The Commission On Dietetic Registration (Cdr). This Certification Ensures That The Individual Has Met The Minimum Requirements For Education And Training In The Field Of Dietetics.

  • State Licensure: In Addition To Rd Certification, Candidates Should Also Hold A Current State License To Practice As A Dietitian In Maine. This License Ensures That The Individual Has Met The Specific Requirements For Practicing Dietetics In The State.

  • Clinical Experience: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2 To 3 Years Of Clinical Experience As A Dietitian. This Experience Should Include Working With Patients In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting, Developing Nutrition Plans, And Providing Nutrition Education.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A Clinical Dietitian At Mainehealth Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Explain Complex Nutrition Concepts In A Clear And Understandable Manner.
