Job Description

We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team in the Cardiac Intensive Care unit. As a CNA in this specialized unit, you will play a crucial role in assisting our patients as they recover from cardiac procedures and conditions.   1. Provide compassionate and skilled care to patients in the Cardiac Intensive Care unit.
  2. Assist patients with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  3. Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team.
  4. Administer medication to patients as directed by the nursing team.
  5. Assist with transferring and positioning of patients to ensure their comfort and safety.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized patient environment.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the nursing team.
  8. Follow all protocols and procedures related to cardiac care.
  9. Continuously update knowledge and skills related to cardiac care procedures.
  10. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
  11. Report any concerns or changes in patient condition to the nursing team.
  12. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient care.
  13. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  14. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  15. Attend training and educational sessions as required.
  16. Adhere to the organization's mission and values.
  17. Uphold a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  18. Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  19. Assist with emergency procedures as needed.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by the nursing team or supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of A State-Approved Cna Training Program: Candidates Must Have Completed A State-Approved Training Program And Hold A Valid Cna Certification In The State Of Maine.

  • Experience In A Cardiac Intensive Care Setting: Mainehealth Requires Cnas To Have Previous Experience Working In A Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Or Similar Critical Care Setting. This Ensures That They Have The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Provide Care To Patients With Complex Cardiac Conditions.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Cnas Must Have Current Bls Certification, Which Includes Training In Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (Cpr) And Other Emergency Procedures. This Is Essential For Responding To Cardiac Emergencies And Providing Immediate Care To Patients.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Working In A Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Requires Close Collaboration With Other Healthcare Professionals, As Well As Effective Communication With Patients And Their Families. Cnas Must Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Provide Compassionate And Efficient Care To Patients.

  • Ability To Handle High-Stress Situations: Cardiac Intensive Care Is A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment, Requiring Cnas To Be Able To Remain Calm And Focused Under Pressure. Candidates Must Demonstrate Their Ability To Handle Challenging Situations And Make Quick Decisions In A Critical Care Setting.
