Job Description

  1. Assist with administrative tasks such as patient registration, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records.
  2. Shadow and learn from experienced professionals in the healthcare industry.
  3. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
  4. Participate in training and educational programs to develop knowledge and skills in patient care.
  5. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
  6. Operate computer systems and software used in patient registration and medical records.
  7. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and team members.
  8. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
  9. Complete tasks and assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
  10. Assist with maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  11. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving processes and patient care.
  12. Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
  13. Represent Mainehealth in a positive and professional manner.
  14. Continuously update knowledge and skills in the healthcare industry.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Patient Access team.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: Candidates For This Role Should Have A Basic Educational Background, Typically A High School Diploma Or Equivalent.

  • Basic Computer Skills: As The Job May Involve Using Electronic Health Records And Other Computer Systems, Applicants Should Have A Basic Understanding Of Computer Operations And Be Comfortable Using Technology.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As An Apprentice In Patient Access, It Is Important To Have Strong Communication Skills To Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals In A Fast-Paced Emergency Department Setting.

  • Customer Service Experience: Previous Experience In A Customer Service Role, Such As A Receptionist Or Retail Associate, Is Highly Desirable For An Apprentice In Patient Access. This Will Help With Handling Patient Inquiries And Providing Quality Customer Service.

  • Willingness To Learn: As An Apprentice, The Candidate Should Demonstrate A Strong Desire To Learn And Develop New Skills. A Positive Attitude And Willingness To Take On New Challenges Will Be Key To Success In This Role.
