- Provide advanced clinical care to newborns in the Continuing Care Nursery.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Educate and support families on newborn care and development.
- Conduct physical examinations and order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe medications and treatments for patients as needed.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in neonatal care.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings.

Advanced Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Possess A Master's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field, Such As Nurse Practitioner Or Clinical Nurse Specialist. This Advanced Education Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide High-Quality Care In The Continuing Care Nursery.
Current State Licensure: All Candidates Must Hold A Valid And Current License To Practice As A Nurse Practitioner Or Clinical Nurse Specialist In The State Of Maine. This Ensures That The Candidate Meets All State Requirements For Practicing In This Role And Is Able To Provide Safe And Competent Care To Patients.
Experience In Neonatal Care: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of Two Years Of Experience Working In A Neonatal Setting, Preferably In A Continuing Care Nursery. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Knowledge And Proficiency In Providing Specialized Care To Premature And Critically Ill Newborns.
Certification In Neonatal Advanced Practice: It Is Preferred That Candidates Hold Certification As A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Or Clinical Nurse Specialist. This Certification Demonstrates A Higher Level Of Expertise And Commitment To Providing Specialized Care In The Continuing Care Nursery.
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills: As An Advanced Practice Provider In The Continuing Care Nursery, The Candidate Will Work Closely With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills Are Essential To Ensure Effective Teamwork And Coordinated Care For Patients.
