Job Description

We are currently seeking an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) to join our team. As an AEMT, you will play a vital role in responding to emergency calls, providing on-site medical care, and transporting patients to medical facilities.   1. Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency calls within the community.
  2. Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions and provide appropriate medical care on-site.
  3. Administer necessary emergency treatments and interventions according to established protocols.
  4. Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment accurately and safely.
  5. Ensure proper documentation of all patient interactions and treatments.
  6. Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including paramedics, nurses, and physicians, to ensure seamless patient care.
  7. Transport patients to medical facilities while providing continuous monitoring and treatment.
  8. Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations and make critical decisions quickly and accurately.
  9. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on the latest advancements and protocols in emergency medical care.
  11. Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and professionalism towards patients and their families.
  12. Collaborate with other AEMTs and EMS personnel to deliver efficient and coordinated care.
  13. Uphold the values and mission of Mainehealth and represent the organization in a positive manner.
  14. Maintain all necessary certifications and licenses required for the role.
  15. Continuously strive for excellence in emergency medical care and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Maine State Licensure: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (Aemt) License Issued By The State Of Maine.

  • Advanced Life Support Certification: The Candidate Must Hold A Current Certification In Advanced Life Support (Als), Which Includes Training In Advanced Airway Management, Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation, And Administration Of Medications.

  • Minimum Education Requirements: The Candidate Must Have Completed A Minimum Of 120 Hours Of Training And Education In Emergency Medical Services, Including Coursework In Anatomy, Physiology, And Emergency Medical Procedures.

  • Relevant Experience: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As An Emt, Preferably In A Hospital Or Ambulance Setting.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, In Order To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals In High-Stress Emergency Situations.
