
Sterile Processing & Decontamination Specialist
MaineGeneral Health is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing & Decontamination Specialist who is committed to providing exceptional patient care. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of instruments used in patient care. This position requires a minimum of two years of experience in sterile processing and decontamination, knowledge of regulatory standards, and excellent organizational and communication skills. The successful candidate must also have the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. The Sterile Processing & Decontamination Specialist is an integral part of the patient care team and must demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care. As a valued team member, you will ensure that all items used in patient care are safe and effective through efficient decontamination and sterilization processes. Responsibilities:
- Monitor and evaluate decontamination, sterilization, and distribution processes to ensure patient safety and quality care.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all regulatory standards and safety protocols.
- Ensure that all items used in patient care are safe and effective by efficient decontamination and sterilization processes.
- Utilize excellent organizational and communication skills to effectively participate in patient care team meetings.
- Document all processes and procedures related to decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of instruments.
- Investigate and resolve sterilization and decontamination issues to maintain quality and safety.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on proper decontamination, sterilization, and distribution processes.
- Assist with the development of sterile processing and decontamination protocols and processes.
- Monitor inventory levels of supplies and equipment used in decontamination, sterilization, and distribution processes.
- Manage and maintain records related to decontamination, sterilization, and distribution processes.
