Job Description

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Gastroenterology team. This position requires a compassionate, hardworking individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of our patients. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with the technical knowledge and experience necessary to provide quality care in the Gastroenterology setting.The Registered Nurse (RN) – Gastroenterology will provide direct patient care to individuals in the Gastroenterology department. This includes patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient’s plan of care. This position requires the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with the Gastroenterology team.The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: a valid RN license in the State of Maine; prior experience in a nursing role, with preference given to those with experience in a Gastroenterology setting; knowledge of medical terminology; and the ability to work with a diverse patient population. The candidate should also have the ability to prioritize tasks, work collaboratively, and demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN) – Gastroenterology:

• Provide direct patient care to individuals in the Gastroenterology department, including patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient’s plan of care.

• Maintain a compassionate, caring attitude towards patients and their families.

• Collaborate with other members of the Gastroenterology team to ensure effective patient care.

• Prioritize tasks and manage time to ensure that all patient needs are met in a timely manner.

• Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of medical treatments to provide quality care.

• Demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Work with a diverse patient population.

• Comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
