  1. Provide comprehensive and personalized care for patients with physical disabilities or injuries.
  2. Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to determine their rehabilitation needs.
  3. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  4. Monitor and assess patients' progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  5. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure optimal outcomes for patients.
  6. Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
  8. Stay current with advancements in the field of physiatry and incorporate new techniques and treatments into practice.
  9. Adhere to all medical and ethical standards, policies, and procedures.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive healthcare experience.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Physiatrist At Mainegeneral Health Must Possess A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.

  • Board Certification: Candidates Must Be Board Certified In Physical Medicine And Rehabilitation By The American Board Of Physical Medicine And Rehabilitation (Abpmr).

  • State Medical License: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Medical License To Practice In The State Of Maine, Or Be Eligible For Licensure.

  • Experience: A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Physical Medicine And Rehabilitation Is Preferred, With A Focus On Musculoskeletal And Neurological Conditions.

  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. They Should Also Possess Strong Leadership Skills And The Ability To Work Well In A Team Setting.
