Job Description

As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in our patient care by collecting blood samples for testing and ensuring accurate and timely results.   1. Perform blood draws and venipunctures on patients using proper techniques and equipment.
  2. Label and process blood samples accurately and efficiently.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure patient safety and infection control.
  4. Verify patient information and maintain confidentiality of all medical records.
  5. Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
  6. Interact professionally and compassionately with patients, making them feel comfortable and at ease.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely delivery of test results.
  8. Keep abreast of industry developments and updates related to phlebotomy techniques and procedures.
  9. Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
  10. Adhere to all regulatory requirements and standards, including HIPAA and OSHA.
  11. Provide exceptional customer service and address any patient concerns or inquiries.
  12. Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
  13. Assist with other duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of A Phlebotomy Training Program: Candidates Should Have Successfully Completed A Phlebotomy Training Program From An Accredited Institution. This Program Should Include Both Classroom Instruction And Hands-On Clinical Experience.

  • Certification: Candidates Should Possess A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Phlebotomy Association (Npa).

  • Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In Phlebotomy Is Preferred. Candidates Should Be Familiar With Various Venipuncture Techniques, Proper Specimen Collection And Handling, And Safety Protocols.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Is Essential For A Phlebotomist. Candidates Should Be Able To Accurately Label And Record Specimens, As Well As Communicate Effectively With Patients And Healthcare Professionals.

  • Attention To Detail: The Ability To Pay Close Attention To Detail Is Crucial In This Role. Phlebotomists Must Be Able To Carefully Follow Protocols And Ensure Accuracy In Specimen Collection And Labeling To Avoid Any Errors Or Contamination.
