Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Patient Services Representative at MaineGeneral Health. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive experience for all who enter our facility.   1. Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and effective manner.
  3. Schedule appointments and maintain accurate patient records in our electronic database.
  4. Verify insurance coverage and collect necessary co-pays or fees at the time of service.
  5. Communicate with patients regarding treatment plans, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized front desk area and waiting room.
  7. Collaborate with healthcare providers and support staff to ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow.
  8. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  9. Keep up-to-date with insurance and billing policies and procedures.
  10. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
  11. Attend training sessions and meetings to stay current on changes and updates in the healthcare industry.
  12. Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve departmental goals and provide the best possible patient experience.
  13. Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of daily transactions.
  14. Remain calm and professional in stressful or challenging situations.
  15. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to enhance the patient experience.
