
Patient Service Representative
MaineGeneral Health is seeking a highly organized and customer-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and answering inquiries. To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent interpersonal skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. If you have a passion for helping others and are committed to providing excellent customer service in a healthcare setting, we want you on our team!Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a minimum of one year of customer service experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Working knowledge of computers, electronic medical records, and basic medical terminology is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer inquiries from patients regarding their medical records, appointments, and insurance coverage.
- Enter patient information into electronic medical records systems.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process payments.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions.
- Ensure that patient privacy is maintained in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Offer excellent customer service and provide assistance to patients with their needs.
- Resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
