Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced and compassionate Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner to join our patient-centered team at MaineGeneral Health. As part of our cutting-edge Palliative Care program, you’ll provide specialized care to improve the quality of life for patients and families facing serious illnesses. To be successful in this role, you should be an excellent communicator, have an in-depth knowledge of palliative medicine, and possess the ability to think critically and make sound decisions. If you’re ready to make a difference in the lives of those in need, we want to hear from you.Required Qualifications:• A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree• Current certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Maine• Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner in palliative care• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Knowledge of evidence-based practice standards and clinical protocols• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide specialized care to improve the quality of life for patients and families facing serious illnesses.
  2. Monitor and assess patient health through regular visits, assessments, and evaluations.
  3. Follow evidence-based practice standards and clinical protocols.
  4. Prescribe and manage medications appropriately.
  5. Educate patients and families on palliative care and available resources.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  7. Create individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and preferences.
  8. Document and maintain accurate patient records.
  9. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care.
  10. Develop and implement strategies to improve palliative care services.

  • Master's Degree In Nursing
