- Provide compassionate and comprehensive nursing care to cancer patients, including monitoring their physical and emotional needs throughout their treatment journey.
- Administer chemotherapy treatments and medications accurately and safely, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Educate patients and their families about their diagnosis, treatment options, and potential side effects.
- Monitor and assess patients for any changes in their condition and report findings to the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and document all care provided.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, promoting a positive and comforting environment.
- Stay current with advancements in oncology treatments and participate in ongoing education and training.
- Serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed and advocating for their rights.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.
- Collaborate with community resources and organizations to provide support and resources to patients and their families.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Uphold the mission, values, and standards of MaineGeneral Health in all aspects of the role.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution.
Current And Valid Rn License In The State Of Maine.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Acute Care Setting, Preferably In Oncology.
Bls And Acls Certifications.
Additional Certification In Oncology Nursing (Ocn) Preferred.
