
Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and detail-oriented Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our growing team at MaineGeneral Health! This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic lab team, and help ensure we provide high-quality, patient-centered care. To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, previous experience as a Phlebotomist, excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. We are also looking for someone with a strong attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly.
Responsibilities:
- Perform blood draws and other laboratory specimen collection procedures with precision and accuracy.
- Ensure a sterile and safe environment while performing specimen collection.
- Verify patient information and enter data into lab system accurately.
- Label and process specimens according to established protocols.
- Monitor and document quality control measures.
- Maintain lab equipment and supplies.
- Respond to inquiries from patients and staff members in a polite and timely manner.
- Comply with all safety regulations and policies of the health care facility.
- Follow proper specimen handling, storage, and disposal procedures.
- Assist in other laboratory tasks as needed.
