- Conduct thorough patient assessments and assist in developing appropriate treatment plans for individuals with ear, nose, and throat conditions.
- Perform physical examinations and order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, comprehensive care to patients.
- Assist in surgical procedures, including preparing equipment, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing post-operative care.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Document patient information accurately and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress and make appropriate adjustments to treatment plans.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Stay up-to-date on current medical practices and procedures related to ear, nose, and throat care.

Master's Degree In Physician Assistant Studies: Candidates For The Ent Pa Position At Mainegeneral Health Should Possess A Master's Degree From An Accredited College Or University In Physician Assistant Studies. This Degree Program Typically Includes Coursework In Anatomy, Pharmacology, Clinical Medicine, And Medical Ethics.
State Licensure And Certification: Candidates Must Be Licensed To Practice As A Physician Assistant In The State Of Maine. They Must Also Hold Current Certification From The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa).
Experience In Ent: Mainegeneral Health Is Seeking Candidates With Previous Experience In The Field Of Otolaryngology. This Could Include Working As A Pa In An Ent Clinic, Completing An Ent Rotation During Their Pa Program, Or Having Experience In A Related Specialty Such As General Surgery Or Family Medicine.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Member Of A Multidisciplinary Team, The Ent Pa Will Need To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. They Must Also Have Excellent Bedside Manner And Be Able To Establish Rapport With Patients.
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Mainegeneral Health Is A Busy Healthcare Facility, And The Ent Pa Must Be Able To Thrive In A Fast-Paced Environment. This Includes Being Able To Prioritize Tasks, Manage A High Volume Of Patients, And Work Efficiently Under Pressure.
