Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Endoscopy Technician to join our team. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting with endoscopic procedures and providing support to our physicians. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of endoscopy procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.   1. Assist with endoscopic procedures by preparing and setting up equipment, ensuring proper sterilization and maintenance of instruments, and providing support to physicians during procedures.
  2. Monitor patient vital signs and assist with patient positioning during procedures.
  3. Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering any questions, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of procedures, patient information, and any complications or adverse reactions.
  5. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless and efficient patient care.
  6. Remain up-to-date with current knowledge of endoscopy procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
  7. Follow all infection control and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide exceptional patient care and address any concerns or questions.
  9. Assist with scheduling and coordinating procedures, including obtaining necessary authorizations and ensuring proper equipment and supplies are available.
  10. Attend and actively participate in team meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
  11. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  12. Foster a positive and compassionate work environment by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and respect towards colleagues and patients.
  13. Collaborate with management to maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, and assist with ordering and restocking as needed.
  14. Adhere to all MaineGeneral Health policies and procedures, including safety, infection control, and privacy regulations.
  15. Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Program In Endoscopy Technology Or Related Field.

  • Current Certification As A Certified Gastroenterology Technician (Cgt) Or Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (Cfer).

  • Minimum Of 1 Year Experience Working As An Endoscopy Technician In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Proficient Knowledge And Understanding Of Endoscopic Procedures, Equipment, And Infection Control Protocols.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Multidisciplinary Team Environment.
