- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the clinical department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of patient care.
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the nursing staff, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Mentor and develop nursing staff through regular performance evaluations, coaching, and training.
- Maintain and uphold the highest standards of patient care and safety, in accordance with MaineGeneral Health policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care and clinical processes.
- Adhere to all legal, ethical and regulatory guidelines in the performance of duties.
- Act as a resource for nursing staff, providing clinical expertise and guidance in complex cases.
- Participate in the recruitment and hiring process for new nursing staff, ensuring the selection of highly qualified and competent individuals.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the clinical department.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure a patient-centered approach to care.
- Handle any patient or staff concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement evidence-based protocols and guidelines for patient care.
- Stay current on industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in nursing and healthcare.
- Monitor and manage the department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Participate in meetings, committees, and other activities to contribute to the overall success of MaineGeneral Health.
Active Rn License In The State Of Maine With At Least 5 Years Of Clinical Experience.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution.
Previous Supervisory Or Management Experience In A Healthcare Setting.
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Evidence-Based Practice And Quality Improvement Initiatives.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Mentor And Develop Clinical Staff.
