
Behavioral Health Counselor
MaineGeneral Health is currently seeking an experienced, compassionate Behavioral Health Counselor to join our team. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about providing exceptional patient care and have a commitment to delivering the highest quality of services to our patients. This position requires a high degree of professionalism, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong understanding of the needs and goals of our patients. In this role, you will provide individual, group, and family therapy to patients seeking mental health services.The successful candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling. Additionally, they must have a minimum of two years of experience as a Behavioral Health Counselor. A license or certification in the State of Maine is preferred but not required. The ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a commitment to providing patient-centered care, have a commitment to excellence, and be a team player.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, group, and family therapies to patients seeking mental health services.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to the ethical standards of the profession.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to develop treatment plans and goals.
- Monitor patient progress, review clinical documentation, and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Provide patient education and support to help facilitate therapeutic change.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and new therapeutic techniques.
- Follow all organizational policies and procedures related to the delivery of behavioral health services.
