Assistant Laboratory - Microbiology

MaineGeneral Health is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Laboratory - Microbiology. This is an important role in the laboratory that requires excellent organizational skills, a commitment to safety and accuracy, and a desire to go above and beyond. The successful candidate will have an Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field, two years of experience in a clinical laboratory, and will have experience with a variety of laboratory instruments and software. Candidates must also be able to multi-task, work with a sense of urgency, and have the ability to work independently. Responsibilities:

1. Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment in accordance with safety and regulatory protocols.
2. Perform laboratory testing and analysis, including microbiological testing and analysis.
3. Operate laboratory instruments and software in a safe and efficient manner.
4. Record and interpret results in a timely and accurate manner.
5. Follow laboratory procedures and protocols to ensure quality control and accuracy of results.
6. Maintain laboratory supplies and reagents as needed.
7. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
8. Work with a sense of urgency and multitask as needed.
9. Work independently and collaborate with other laboratory staff.
10. Provide helpful feedback and support to laboratory staff.
