Job Description

Macy's is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Merchandise Planning team as a Merchandise Planning Associate. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who has a passion for fashion and retail. The Merchandise Planning Associate will work with the team to manage the inventory and merchandise planning process.The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of the fashion industry. They must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment. They should also be comfortable working with numbers and possess an understanding of the retail industry. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Business or related field and have at least two years of experience in a retail or planning role.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in managing the inventory and merchandise planning process, including developing strategies to reach financial goals.
  2. Analyze sales and inventory data to determine trends and make appropriate recommendations.
  3. Monitor performance of merchandise categories to identify opportunities to improve results.
  4. Develop plans to optimize inventory levels for each season.
  5. Monitor stock levels and suggest reorders to ensure an adequate inventory of merchandise.
  6. Work with the team to ensure the accuracy of markdowns, transfers, and other inventory adjustments.
  7. Utilize data to identify opportunities and make appropriate recommendations.
  8. Collaborate with vendors and other departments to ensure timely delivery of merchandise.
  9. Prepare reports and presentations as needed.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
