Assistant Buyer

1. Collaborate with the buying team to understand the needs and goals of the specific product category.
2. Assist with product research and analysis to identify trends and make informed purchasing decisions.
3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory levels and sales data.
4. Monitor and track product performance, providing regular reports to the buying team.
5. Communicate and negotiate with vendors to secure the best deals and maintain positive relationships.
6. Participate in buying meetings and contribute ideas for product selection and assortment.
7. Assist in the creation and implementation of pricing strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
8. Handle administrative tasks such as purchase orders, invoices, and scheduling shipments.
9. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity.
10. Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries and resolving any issues related to the product category.
11. Support the buying team in planning and executing promotional events and sales.
12. Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and visual merchandising, to ensure a cohesive shopping experience for customers.
13. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost efficiency.
14. Maintain a high level of professionalism and represent the company's values and standards at all times.
15. Take on additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to support the buying team and contribute to the overall success of the company.
