Welcome to Macy's! We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Asset Protection Detective. As an Asset Protection Detective, you will play a crucial role in protecting our merchandise, customers, and employees. We are looking for someone who is proactive and able to handle challenging situations with ease. If you have a strong eye for detail and a passion for keeping things safe and secure, we want to hear from you.

  1. Monitor and protect merchandise, customers, and employees to maintain a safe and secure shopping environment.
  2. Utilize surveillance systems and conduct regular patrols to identify and deter potential theft or fraudulent activity.
  3. Conduct thorough investigations into any suspicious or criminal activity, including reviewing security footage and interviewing witnesses.
  4. Collaborate with store management and law enforcement to address any security concerns or incidents.
  5. Develop and implement strategies to prevent loss and minimize risk within the store.
  6. Train and educate store employees on proper security procedures and protocols.
  7. Keep accurate records and documentation of all security-related incidents and reports.
  8. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and technology advancements related to asset protection.
  9. Respond promptly and professionally to any security-related incidents or emergencies.
  10. Maintain a high level of customer service while enforcing store policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience In Loss Prevention: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience In A Loss Prevention Or Asset Protection Role, Preferably Within A Retail Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Security Measures: A Deep Understanding Of Security Procedures And Protocols Is Essential For This Role. This Includes Knowledge Of Cctv Systems, Alarm Systems, And Other Security Technologies.

  • Strong Analytical Skills: Asset Protection Detectives Must Have Strong Observational And Analytical Skills To Identify Potential Threats And Suspicious Behavior. They Must Also Be Able To Review Data And Identify Patterns Of Theft Or Fraud.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: This Role Requires Effective Communication With Team Members, Store Management, And Law Enforcement. Candidates Should Have Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Report Incidents And Provide Testimony If Needed.

  • Physical Fitness: Asset Protection Detectives May Need To Physically Apprehend Suspects Or Escort Them Out Of The Store. Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle Potentially Confrontational Situations. They May Also Need To Stand For Long Periods And Be Able To Move Quickly If Needed.
