Asset Protection Detective

Macy's is searching for an experienced and highly motivated Asset Protection Detective to join our team. As a key member of the Loss Prevention team, the Asset Protection Detective will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure retail environment and preventing shoplifting and other forms of theft. This individual must be proactive, demonstrate excellent customer service, and possess strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of investigative experience in a retail or law enforcement setting. We are looking for an individual who is comfortable working independently, has a keen eye for detail, and is comfortable in both a physical and digital environment. An understanding of basic security principles and the ability to stay calm in tense situations is also a must. Responsibilities:

1. Monitor customer and employee activities to identify potential theft or safety risks.
2. Investigate incidents of theft and other violations, and provide detailed reports of findings.
3. Utilize surveillance equipment to detect suspicious activity.
4. Interact with customers, employees, and law enforcement to resolve incidents.
5. Ensure safety protocols and regulations are followed to maintain a secure environment.
6. Stay current on local and state laws governing shoplifting and other forms of theft.
7. Maintain detailed records of all investigations, including identifying evidence, incident descriptions, and investigative actions.
8. Collaborate with colleagues and management to develop and implement strategies to minimize losses.
9. Provide professional customer service and support to customers and employees.
10. Remain calm and composed in potentially dangerous or tense situations.
