Asset Protection Detective

Macy's is seeking an experienced Asset Protection Detective to join our team and help protect our customers, staff, and property. In this role, you will be responsible for detecting and deterring shoplifting and other theft related activities while providing exceptional customer service. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for retail and a commitment to the safety of our customers and employees.The successful candidate will have excellent observational skills and strong communication abilities. They will also need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. To be successful in this role, you should have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior experience in security or law enforcement.

Responsibilities: • Monitor customers for suspicious activity and respond to any potential theft incidents. • Educate customers on store policies and procedures. • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional attitude at all times. • Maintain a daily log of activities and submit to the management team on a regular basis. • Respond to emergency situations in a timely and appropriate manner. • Utilize security technology such as CCTV cameras to identify potential security threats. • Conduct investigations and interviews with customers and staff. • Apprehend and detain shoplifters until local law enforcement arrives. • Create and execute loss prevention training programs. • Assist with the development and implementation of store policies and procedures. • Remain up-to-date on the latest trends and techniques related to asset protection.
