IT SOX Analyst II - Controller

M&T Bank is looking for an experienced IT SOX Analyst II - Controller to join our internal controls team. The ideal candidate has an understanding of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and a proven track record of successful internal control implementations. This position requires an individual with strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The IT SOX Analyst II - Controller will be a key player in ensuring our organization is compliant with all SOX requirements. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and growing organization.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field• A minimum of 3 years of internal control or financial control experience• Working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite• Understanding of IT Control Frameworks (e.g. COBIT, COSO, etc.)• Familiarity with SOX audit process and requirements• Ability to work well in a team environment and manage multiple priorities• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act and all other relevant internal control requirements.
2. Develop, implement, and maintain internal control procedures and policies.
3. Monitor and report on the performance of internal controls.
4. Assist with SOX audits and other external financial reviews.
5. Identify and address control gaps.
6. Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation plans.
7. Research and analyze financial and accounting data to identify internal control issues.
8. Train and mentor staff on SOX and internal control processes.
9. Work with stakeholders to develop remediation plans for control deficiencies.
10. Prepare and present reports to senior management and the Board of Directors.
