Job Description

Work closely with Total Rewards (Benefits, Workday admin and payroll) team on issue related to employee timekeeping, benefits, leaves of absence, etc. Provide tactical/situational support to the business, coaching first-line and first-time managers on performance management, basic employee relations, policies, and other HR-related topics. Serve as a back up to the HR Coordinator to facilitate new employee onboarding including conducting New Hire Orientation, processing new hire paperwork, background checks and I9s. Liaise with other support departments to ensure data integrity. Process employee changes such as merit increases, promotions, transfers, status change, prepare corresponding memos. Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience with identifying and implementing programs and processes that align with organizational culture

  • Previous experience working ina union environment preferred

  • Working knowledge of California state and federal laws
