Job Description

Performs detailed analysis of State and Federal polices and provisions, legislation language and proposed Board motions to determine their impact on County operations and existing programs and services; Reviews County, State and Federal legislative agendas for updates in language to help advocate for DHS healthcare priorities. Researches and collects information from State and Federal regulations in order to facilitate the development of new proposed legislation and policies which will have positive impacts on the delivery of departmental program services and sponsorships. Consults with departmental program administrators to make recommendations on proposed regulations, legislative position and makes amendments to conform legislation to County needs, as appropriate. Acts as head of the legislative analysis unit in the absence of the unit supervisor, as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Three (3) years' progressively responsible administrative

  • Experience in analyzing and making recommendations for the solution to problems of procedure

  • Experience in staff capacity working with elected officials at the local, state, and federal level.
