- Develop, implement, and maintain effective weapons response protocols and procedures in accordance with industry standards and government regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive response to potential weapons-related incidents.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend proactive measures to mitigate risks.
- Train and educate employees on weapons response protocols and procedures, including conducting drills and simulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all weapons-related incidents and coordinate with appropriate personnel to ensure a swift and appropriate response.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all weapons-related incidents and responses.
- Monitor and analyze data related to weapons response incidents to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to weapons response and security.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, providing timely updates and recommendations related to weapons response.
- Foster a culture of safety and security by promoting awareness and accountability among employees.
- Participate in emergency response and crisis management planning and exercises.
- Continuously evaluate and improve weapons response protocols and procedures based on feedback and lessons learned.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role.
Knowledge Of Weapons And Firearms: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Weapons And Firearms, Including Their Mechanisms, Safety Protocols, And Handling Procedures.
Strong Communication Skills: As A Weapons Response Liaison, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Communicating With Various Departments And Individuals Within The Laboratory. Therefore, Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Essential For This Role.
Emergency Response Experience: In The Event Of A Weapons-Related Incident, The Weapons Response Liaison Will Be Responsible For Coordinating And Responding To The Situation. Previous Experience In Emergency Response, Such As Law Enforcement Or Military Experience, Is Highly Desirable For This Role.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Protocols And Procedures: The Candidate Should Have A Good Understanding Of The Protocols And Procedures In Place At Los Alamos National Laboratory. This Includes Familiarity With Security Protocols, Access Control Measures, And Emergency Response Procedures.
Ability To Work Under Pressure: The Weapons Response Liaison May Be Required To Respond To High-Pressure Situations, Such As Security Breaches Or Emergency Incidents. The Candidate Should Be Able To Remain Calm And Make Quick Decisions Under Pressure, While Also Following Established Protocols And Procedures.
