Payroll Accountant

The Los Alamos National Laboratory is looking for an experienced Payroll Accountant to join our team. We are looking for an individual with strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy. Responsibilities:

1. Manage and maintain accurate payroll records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
2. Prepare payroll transactions, including tax deductions and other withholdings.
3. Process payroll payments in a timely and accurate manner.
4. Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports for management.
5. Monitor payroll compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
6. Organize and maintain employee files to ensure accuracy and timeliness of records.
7. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and policies.
8. Develop and implement procedures to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll.
9. Maintain communication with outside vendors and other departments.
10. Assist with other accounting projects as needed.
