
Patent Attorney Manager
Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a Patent Attorney Manager to lead a dynamic team of attorneys and professionals in the legal department. This position requires a combination of strong legal experience, management skills, and a passion for innovation. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of patent law, with the ability to think strategically and manage effectively. They will demonstrate a commitment to the Laboratory’s mission and core values, and will be comfortable engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders from scientific, technical, and business backgrounds. The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with an excellent reputation and a track record of successfully managing a team of attorneys. Required Qualifications:• Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership in good standing• 8+ years of progressively responsible legal experience, including 5+ years of patent law experience• Demonstrated leadership, management, and communication skills• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks• Knowledge of intellectual property law and best practices
Responsibilities:
- Oversee, manage, and lead a team of patent attorneys and other legal professionals.
- Develop and implement effective strategies in order to maintain a high standard of legal practice.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to the Laboratory’s stakeholders on a variety of intellectual property matters.
- Identify and analyze legal issues, conduct legal research, and draft legal documents.
- Monitor changes in patent law and advise the Laboratory accordingly.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the budget and other resources allocated to the legal department.
- Foster an environment of innovation and creativity within the legal team.
- Maintain a commitment to the Laboratory’s mission and core values.
- Monitor team performance and provide feedback and guidance to ensure team success.
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills
Juris Doctorate Degree From An Aba-Accredited Law School
At Least Four Years Of Relevant Experience In Patent Prosecution And/Or Patent Litigation
Licensed To Practice Law In At Least One Us State
Comprehensive Knowledge Of Us Patent Laws And Procedures
