- Design and develop mechanical systems for nuclear facilities, ensuring they meet safety, regulatory, and operational requirements.
- Conduct analysis and evaluations of existing mechanical systems to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary upgrades.
- Collaborate with other engineers, scientists, and technicians to develop innovative solutions for complex challenges in nuclear facility design and maintenance.
- Ensure all mechanical systems and equipment meet applicable industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and maintain technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for mechanical systems.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure project success.
- Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential mechanical failures.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in mechanical engineering and nuclear facility operations to continuously improve processes and systems.
- Train and mentor junior engineers on mechanical engineering principles and best practices.
- Prioritize safety and quality in all aspects of work, following strict protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management to provide updates on project status and seek input on key decisions.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to identify and source necessary materials and equipment for mechanical systems.
- Monitor and manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Adhere to all laboratory policies and procedures, particularly those related to security, safety, and confidentiality.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Mechanical Engineering Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5-7 Years Of Experience In Mechanical Engineering, Preferably In A Nuclear Or High-Hazard Facility.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Nuclear Facility Design, Operation, And Maintenance.
Proficiency In Relevant Software And Tools Such As Cad, Fea, And Cfd.
Familiarity With Applicable Codes, Standards, And Regulations Related To Nuclear Facility Design And Operation, Such As Asme And Nrc Regulations.
