Job Description

Are you an experienced Nuclear Facilities Engineer looking to take on an exciting challenge at Los Alamos National Laboratory? This is a great opportunity for a motivated engineer to join our team and make a difference in our mission to provide the highest quality of research and development in the nuclear field. We are looking for a Nuclear Facilities Engineer to be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our nuclear facilities. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of nuclear and hazardous materials facilities. They should also have a strong understanding of safety regulations, nuclear power plant operations, and engineering principles.The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field, 5+ years of experience in nuclear or hazardous materials operations and maintenance, and proven leadership experience. Knowledge of hazardous materials storage and waste disposal regulations and experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software is also preferred.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the nuclear facilities.
  2. Ensure compliance with safety regulations pertaining to nuclear power plant operations.
  3. Oversee the maintenance and repair of nuclear and hazardous materials facilities.
  4. Develop and implement procedures and policies to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  5. Monitor the performance of the nuclear facilities and personnel.
  6. Provide training and guidance to staff on safety protocols and procedures.
  7. Monitor and enforce hazardous materials storage and disposal regulations.
  8. Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop and maintain designs of nuclear facilities.
  9. Prepare reports and documentation related to the operation and maintenance of nuclear facilities.
  10. Coordinate with other departments and contractors to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the nuclear facilities.

Compensation

According to JobzMall, the average salary range for a Nuclear Facilities Engineer in Los Alamos, NM 87544, USA is $95,000 - $125,000 per year. This range includes base salary, bonus, and other forms of compensation.
