- Safely handle and dispose of radioactive and hazardous materials in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of laboratory equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of nuclear and hazardous materials, including proper storage and labeling.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to develop and implement safety procedures and protocols.
- Perform regular testing and analysis of materials to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate safety measures.
- Train and educate laboratory staff on proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Keep up-to-date with current regulations and procedures related to nuclear and hazardous materials management.
- Respond to and mitigate any potential safety incidents or emergencies involving hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all activities related to nuclear and hazardous materials.
- Continuously assess and improve safety protocols and procedures to ensure the highest level of safety for laboratory staff and the surrounding community.
Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Scientific Field, Such As Chemistry, Physics, Or Nuclear Engineering.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working With Nuclear And Hazardous Materials In A Laboratory Or Industrial Setting.
Proficiency In Operating And Maintaining Specialized Equipment For Handling And Analyzing Radioactive Or Hazardous Materials.
Knowledge Of Safety Protocols And Regulations For Handling And Disposing Of Nuclear And Hazardous Materials.
Ability To Obtain And Maintain Necessary Security Clearances For Working At A National Laboratory.
