
Health Physics Field Coordinator
Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as a Health Physics Field Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for providing health physics field support to ensure the safety of personnel, property, and the environment. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical knowledge in radiation protection, health physics, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Health Physics, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field• 5+ years of experience in Health Physics or Radiation Protection• Extensive knowledge in radiation safety regulations, laws, and standards• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and administer health physics field support activities to ensure the safety of personnel, property, and the environment.
- Maintain records of radiation protection, health physics, and radiation safety regulations.
- Develop and implement radiation safety procedures.
- Monitor and inspect health physics activities for compliance with regulations.
- Provide technical advice and guidance in health physics and radiation protection.
- Develop and deliver health physics training to personnel.
- Identify and assess potential risks associated with radiation protection.
- Liaise with multiple stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Monitor and evaluate health physics programs and practices.
- Monitor and inspect radiation sources and equipment.
- Report findings and recommendations to management.
- Perform physical inspections of radiation sources and equipment.
- Analyze data to identify potential safety issues.
- Maintain and update emergency response plans.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
