Job Description

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Manufacturing Engineering Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development, fabrication, and testing of CNC parts and assemblies for the laboratory. You will work closely with the Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure that all parts and assemblies are designed and manufactured to the highest standards.The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or a related field, as well as a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in CNC machining. Additionally, strong knowledge of CNC programming languages and a working knowledge of CAD/CAM software are essential for success in this position. The successful candidate must be highly organized, have excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop CNC components and assemblies that meet the highest standards.
  2. Program CNC machines using CNC programming languages.
  3. Utilize CAD/CAM software for designing and manufacturing CNC parts.
  4. Work closely with the Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure the quality and accuracy of CNC parts and assemblies.
  5. Test and evaluate CNC parts and assemblies for accuracy and performance.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to CNC programming or machining.
  7. Perform maintenance and repair of CNC machines.
  8. Monitor CNC machining processes to ensure quality and accuracy of parts and assemblies.
  9. Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and colleagues.
  10. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in CNC machining.
