Job Description

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a talented and experienced Building Automation System Controls Technologist to join our team. In this key role, you will provide expertise in maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading building automation systems. You should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building automation systems, building management systems, and/or HVAC control systems. You should have a demonstrable understanding of and experience with HVAC control systems, along with a strong technical aptitude and effective communication skills. An understanding of advanced HVAC systems, such as multi-zone systems and variable air volume systems, is a plus.If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity to bring your technical skills to a respected National Laboratory, then this is the position for you.

Responsibilities:

  1. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot building automation systems, building management systems, and/or HVAC control systems.
  2. Provide expertise in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of building automation systems.
  3. Develop a strong technical aptitude and effectively communicate with team members.
  4. Understand advanced HVAC systems, such as multi-zone systems and variable air volume systems.
  5. Monitor system performance and identify areas of improvement.
  6. Develop and implement new procedures to improve system performance.
  7. Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve any system issues in a timely manner.
  9. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a smooth functioning system.
  10. Maintain up-to-date documentation of system changes and updates.
